More
than 250 residents packed Durrington Village Hall on the 29th
March where exciting and interesting exhibitions by the Town
Council and other local bodies were on display. Of great interest
were the exhibits and presentation of the exceptional archaeological
finds from the recent excavation of the old MoD site; the
exciting centenary plans for Durrington Infants School and
Avon Valley College new Sports Hall.
Feedback
on the Village Design Statement, Garden Allotments, Larkhill
Play Park and Village Vehicle Event Fun Day were all very
positive.
The
Persimmon Homes stand was busy displaying the phase 3 houses
design.
The
Library stand was exceptionally well supported and there are
over 45 volunteers signed up to keep Durrington Library alive
when Wiltshire Council withdraws most of their admin support.
Chairman
of the Council, Graham Wright, said “I am proud to lead
such a successful team of Councillors; never before have we
had so many complements paid to us in any one evening; our
villagers just had a great time and this bodes well for the
future of our community”
There were many other interesting displays and Durrington
Town Council wish to thank all those who helped to make this
years Annual Parish Meeting yet another benchmark for the
future.
