On Saturday 19th September, Durrington Millennium Park was filled with excited voices as villagers of all ages enjoyed the official opening of the New Fitness Trim Trail and the recently restored BMX track.

Chairman of Durrington Town Council, Cllr Graham Wright and Cllr’s John Rodell and David Healing provided the refreshments whilst the BMX riders displayed their agility and skills.

The Fitness Trim Trail has 8 individually designed exercise stations; it is designed to promote healthy exercise and is an excellent enhancement to Durrington and Larkhill. Many grants including £10,000 from the National Lottery and £3,000 from Salisbury District Council have made this project a reality.
The BMX track that is located in the Millennium Field was designed and has been extensively used by Durrington’s young people. Recently the track has been restored by Durrington BMX group in association with the Town Council.

Pictured are some of the many people who enjoyed the opening event.
