Durrington Town Council provide enhanced Dipping Platform

Town Councillors and volunteers repaired and provided a new stage to the Dipping Platform at Durrington River Park.

Youngsters just love dipping in the river with small hand held nets and this popular pastime is an excellent way of educating young people to the delights of the Durrington River Park.

The Ribbon was cut by Ivy Robinson and John Thompson, Deputy Leader of Wiltshire Council. The funding for this project and also the extension to the Village Hall was supplied from the Developers of the old Durrington MoD site. Cllr Wright said “it is a delight to have this project delivered on time and within budget, it will make a real difference to our community”. He also thanked the building contractors for such excellent workmanship. The extended function room is already being booked for parties and larger groups that could not previously be accommodated.
